Who are we?

Enertren is an Australian based engineering consulting business founded in 2009 by John Trenerry.

John's vision in Enertren is to collaborate with manufacturers and developers, builders and their design teams to manage the integration of building product innovations into their building projects.

Enertren is based in Sydney and is a member firm of Consult Australia.

John Trenerry is a member of Engineers Australia and the International Masonry Society.

John Trenerry BE MEM MIEAust

John holds a Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of New South Wales and a Masters Degree in Engineering Management from the University of Technology, Sydney. John began a professional engineering career in 1992 with the R&D team at Lysaght (now BlueScope) working on the SupraFrame and SupraTruss development programs. In 1995 John became a director of a light-gauge steel fabrication business, responsible for engineering services and major project business development.

John gained seven years structural engineering consulting experience in Advanced Civil Design Services where he utilising his expertise in steel house framing and cold-formed steel design. Complementing that, in 1997 he co-founded a business called Steelumba which commercialised patented low-cost steel building systems.

In 2002 John joined CSR Limited, where he held senior positions managing engineering services and leading product development in the Hebel and Panel Systems divisions. In 2008 he implemented a stage-gate new product development system that greatly improved the number, quality and economic return of systems launched.

John started a new business, Enertren Pty Ltd, in 2009 with the purpose of collaborating with manufacturers, developers, builders and design teams to manage the integration of building product innovations into specifications and projects. Enertren is a member firm of Consult Australia. John Trenerry is a member of Engineers Australia and the International Masonry Society, and is an accredited consultant in Extended DISC. John sits on Standards Australia Committees BD-25, DB-26, BD-99 and FP-20.
